Nicole Finlay - Living her dream in New Zealand
As most of you already know, our beloved coach Nicole Finlay has left us to move to New Zealand, to fulfill a bucket list dream of hers of opening her own riding school. We were very sad to see go but happy to be able to support her in her new endeavour.
Nicole and her partner Phil purchased a farm on 10 glorious acres of flat land in Christchurch. The largest city in New Zealand’s South Island. A unique, historic and beautiful city with the Avon River meandering through the city centre.
Nicole is very excited to report that construction is well underway for Maris Equestrian’s arena and riding school facilities and looks forward to its completion in the coming year. The riding school name, Maris Equestrian, was inspired by her family lines, her middle name and grandfather’s name.
The riding school will consist of a well-lit 60 x 30-meter fenced sand jump/schooling arena, and a seasonal open grass jump/cross country area, a 15-meter round yard and stabling facilities. Very exciting times ahead!
Nicole is currently offering lessons for riders of all ages and abilities as well as Pony Parties with her small team of school horses. She also offers lessons for riders with their own horses. Stay tuned for further updates and progress photos as Maris Equestrian progresses.
