Donna in the Spotlight!

Donna has been an invaluable member of the MC Equestrian Riding School team since the very beginning. Donna is a jack of all trades and handles everything from coaching and stables to staff, technology and rostering! She is dedicated, reliable and highly organised and helps keep things running smoothly.

What led you to start your job at MC Equestrian?

Another major riding school in the Terrey Hills area sadly closed its doors, so it was a fantastic opportunity for me to work with Dee to establish MC Equestrian Riding School. With such a magnificent location, offering first class riding arenas and facilities it has been an incredible journey.

What does a typical day involve for you?

Lots of early mornings! Checking on the horses and ensuring they are healthy and ready for the days riding schedules. Reviewing which riders are coming in for lessons and briefing the team about the daily run sheet. Troubleshooting anything and everything and of course, coaching riders of all ages and abilities.

What do you like best about working at MC Equestrian?

The variety that working with horses and riders offers. There is never a dull moment!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I love to ride my horse of course! Andy is a 14 yr old Holsteiner Warmblood. I have owned him since August 2019. He is a schoolmaster type, which means he teaches me something every single ride. Andy is a dressage and jumping horse, but at the moment we are focusing on dressage and looking forward to the competitions opening up again after COVID.

Tell us about your favourite riding trail?

There are lots of lovely riding trails around Terrey Hills so it’s hard to pick one. But what I like about all of them is the ability to feel like you are hours away from the hustle and bustle, but still so close to home. Nothing beats a good trail to bring you back to nature.
